ELMG Digital Power are pleased to announce that we have been accepted as a member in the Xilinx Alliance Program.
ELMG Digital Power have been using Xilinx FPGAs in digital power converter control, automotive and wired and fiber optic communication since 2009. Dr. Hamish Laird, ELMG Digital Power CTO, previously used Xilinx FPGAs for power electronics research from 1997 to 2001.
When asked about the Xilinx Alliance Program (XAP) membership Dr Laird says, “We have been working for the last five years, developing capability and delivering solutions. This XAP membership is a further opportunity for us to help our customer achieve great things with digital control using All Programmable FPGA and SoCs (System on Chip). Xilinx have a fantastic product offering, have always been a great partner and have great local support, worldwide, with Avnet. I am very pleased and excited for us at ELMG Digital Power to be part of the Xilinx Alliance Program.”
Dr. Laird continues “We hope to be a great partner for our customers. They will, we hope, see the benefit from us having the very best tools, training, direct support and access to IP. We will continue to invest in our IP libraries.”
Dr. Tim King, who leads the FPGA and SoC effort at ELMG Digital Power says, “We are always looking to improve the service and IP cores we provide our customers. We always work to improve our processes around design, implementation and verification. The XAP will definitely help us with the tools to do that”.
Dr. King again, “We are really pleased to be in this program. We are the only member in New Zealand, one of four in Australasia, one of twenty six in Asia Pacific and one of two hundred and fifty six world wide. I have always been a big fan of Xilinx products. Their present offering of 7 Series All programmable FPGAs and Zynq-7000 SoC are really powerful and suit our focus on power control and power electronics. We see a bright future delivering our customers solutions for digital power control and energy efficiency using Xilinx All Programmable devices. The XAP further reinforces and adds to the advantage that we provide to our customers.”
